The hot one hundred is really just a list of work he likes to be frank it isn't really art in its self it is just using the names of artists and works in a child like way in his style of art, i think that this slightly lazy and it does present the question is it the art which has gotten it into the Saatchi gallery or does the gallery agree with the list of names and what order they are in, is this effectively a shopping list for a gallery or is it a piece to the artist which which shows what styles of art he personal likes as it is represented ? but i suppose i do appreciate the use of colour and the style of the writing and the balls he must have had to present a "top 100 artists" is quite impressive is a competitive world of art and to display it in a very well known gallery. But to prove that the is frozen in time and that his tastes of the art world does change and everyone personal opinion he has made the "hip 100" and is continuing the series to a possible "the new and improved hot 100" which i think is better than crating one piece and sticking to it because no one would really stick to their favorite artists some times people have a new favorite every week. So this piece does have a very convenient use to art students because of the list given as a practical recommend list but it also does give an insight into the mind of an artist which i do like to see in contemporary art.
